Let start Christmas!

I want to say a big thank you to Jenny Hudson at Indie Quarter for including Custom Made in their Lets Start Christmas blog article (see No4 in the pic) I love Indie Quarter, its a great blog read and I think that there are definately folks that wouldnt have visited Custom Made if it wasnt for Jenny and the blog.
Custom Made has featured several times and I did a "day in the life of" interview too. If you type Anna Butler into Google the first thing you get is the day in the life of interview. How cool is that. Oh no I have just admittend that I have googled myself (how sad!)
So go ahead and read Indie Quarter, I have found lots of lovely indie designers that way. You should too!

She really wasnt supposed to turn out like this!

Hi!

Hmmmm, I made a really cute pattern for an embroidered doll this morning. I was busy making stock when this idea came into my head. Well, you know what its like, when an idea strikes you have to act on it.

I wish I hadnt bothered now! My cute doll looks like a strangled chinless ghost I think! I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board on this one I think!

I'm more than happy with the embroidery but her body leaves a lot to be desired.

So here's one that didnt work so well!

Things I Love......Smitten Kitten.

I couldnt resist adding another "things i love" to the blog! Now this very scarf I was VERY lucky to snap up at Renegade Craft Fair. Now its no easy feat shopping and running a booth there I can tell you! For a start leaving your boyfriend to fend for himself with lots of ladies buying purses, bags and necklaces is a bit mean, no wait thats not mean at all, all those ladies?!! Anyway I managed to get away a few times and on each of those trips I passed (a couple of booths down from me) this fab booth with pretty tote bags with apples on, they caught my eye every time. Then I spotted this scarf!!! Isnt it the most amazing scarf you have ever seen!! I was certainly smitten. Anyway in typical me style I though ah well I will nip back tomorrow and get one. When I nipped back in the morning to my horror they only had three left!!!! This of course sent me running back to my booth and then back to the Smitten Kitten booth with money in hand. So now I am the proud owner of a very beautiful Smitten Kitten scarf all the way from Canada, but the awesomeness of the company doesnt stop at scaves. Things I love.....The Small Object.

I have decided that I am going to have a little section on my blog called "things I love". Although I love telling you all about Custom Made stuff, I do like other stuff too (does that make sense?)
Well the first thing I love is this amazingly cute Super Star Stamp Necklace from The Small Object. Isnt it the greatest thing you have ever seen! Each handmade wooden doll has a pretty fabric dress and a stamp in the bottom. So cute! I had seen these fab dolls a while ago but actually came face to face with The Small Object at Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago this year, but alas like so many of the fantastic booths there I didnt have the time to stop and buy stuff. I regretting this so much now. New in the store!

Hi!

New today in the shop....

We have these lovely little flowers studs. The flowers are vintage and come from Japan (a country of many lovely things :) and they are mounted on sterling silver earring posts. They flowers measure 9mm across so they are small and very cute! I havent worn earrings for ages so I am going to treat myself to a pair. The other cool thing with regards to thse lovely flowers is that in a couple of days there will be rings to match! I will let you know when they arrive!
