Ric Flair - Custom Made

Normally if type Custom Made into Google at the top is custommade.com (when I was buying my domain I wanted custommade.com but it was taken by a furniture maker) then its custommadeuk.com- our little old website. Although in the last few days the top Custom Made spot has been taken by this video! I dotn know anything about Rick Flar but I am guessing that he is a wrestler (watch the video) Im going to find out more....as the song/rap goes "He cant help being Custom Made" too funny!

Very excited today......

I figured today that I never really write about me on this blog. Phew you all say, you wittering on about purses is bad enough!
Anyway, I really love music and as I spend a lot of timein my office/workspace place I listen to a lot of music. The first thing I do in the morning is open Itunes and see if there are any new podcasts updating....
Well this morning the little download thing dropped down and the little wheel statrted spinning so I click on it to see what was downloading. It was The Interface which is a music podcast that has bands playing in session, these are pretty good. One of my faves was a Tegan & Sara session there was also a pretty cool one by Ben Lee etc etc. Well I am sitting here waiting with much excitment and anticipation cos the new one downloading is Adam Greem and Kimya Dawson formerly one of my absolute fave bands The Moldy Peaches!! Eeeekkk I cant wait. Now I have loved the Moldy Peaches for a long time. I love playing them in the van or in the house cos peoples reactions are one of two "who the fuck is this!" or "wow how cool is this"
Anyway, if you have never listened to the Moldy Peaches I strongly suggest you do, and if you are a Moldy Peaches/Adam Green/Kimya Dawson fan then listen to the Interface session......I am waiting with anticipation!!!

Way down deep in the woods.....

I bought this fabric a while ago and its been sat on my desk while I have been wondering what to do with it and more importantly whether I like it. Its from a range called Folklore which is such a cool name for a range of fabric.
Anyway I had a creative spurt this afternoon when I had finished a big wholesale order (I need to tell you all about that too cos its a new stockist) and made a few items. I am actually really pleased with them as they look a bit arts and crafty and Libertyish....
I think the brooch pins are going to be in sets of 2. I'm not sure yet. I will have to decide. I havent put them up on the website yet, but will very soon!

Lovely Flickr people.......

I love Flickr.....its such a good place to see peoples work and their lovely workspaces. Workspaces are kind of an obsession of mine since I work in a room with a concrete floor and furniture "borrowed" from a lab. That description makes my office sound cool. Its really not. It will be one day if I can stop work long enough to paint and put something on the floor. Anyway I am digressing.
One of my newest Flickr contacts is Linzie Hunter. Linzie is an illustrator and there is a series of her Spam One-liners on her flickr page. They are so funny and really made me smile when I read them. So check them out HERE

New today!

Hi!

We have put the first new item of the year on the site today. Its the "that 70's Mushroom Keyring"

I have had a little stack of pieces of fabric for ages that are too small to make larger things from (purses mostly) Now there fabrics are lovely and how could I put a piece in the bin. So I thought for a while and came up with these little cuteys!

So check them out in the shop and buy one if you fancy! As they are made from little bits of fabric they are all unique.....

Its 2008!

Hi!

Phew!! The Christmas mad rush is done for another year, and now the Christmas break is over too. Lots of lovely relaxing and up until New Years Eve I was feeling pretty lucky as everyone around me had hideous flu except me.

I am now the proud owner of the hideous flu too! Yuk!

Its weird as every day it seems to get worse, that said poor old Custom Made has been a bit neglected this week apart from the urgent orders and things. I was so excited to get back to work this week as there are loads of new things in the pipeline, my mind is in overdrive with new ideas, there are alsorts of lovely parcels of fabric and trims winging their way to CM HQ and all I can do is cough, and wipe my nose!!

Anyway, next week should be a better one so for now I'm going to tell you about a new CM stockist. Its the lovely new Magma product shop on Earlham Street in London. It is sooooooo nice!! I went in over Christmas and couldnt resist a few purchases. To be honest, I wanted to buy everything in the shop! So my advice to you is to drop in there, its well worth it.......

Well thats it for now. Keep checking the site for new stuff, theres lots on the way. Thanks again to all our fab customers, we couldnt do it without you!! Oh and thanks to my little helper AB. Custom Made couldnt cope without you!!!
