Badge Making at the Old Fire Station.

Hello,
I love a good workshop so when Emily at the Old Fire Station Shop contacted me to see if I would run one at the launch of their new online shop I said yes!
The Old Fire Station is one of Custom Made's stockists. They have a beautiful shop packed with lovely work by lots of independent designers. Many are local to Oxford (like us)
'Something little that the maker can take away' she said, so I got my thinking cap on. The Old Fire Station is an arts centre so I wanted to do something that enabled everyone to make a little piece of art to take with them. I little something that they had to think about. I decided on a little badge making workshop.

I wanted the thinking part to be about words so I came up with some very simple little templates where the maker could either use my little starter 'words' or write/draw whatever came to them (in the blank ones) Oh and any excuse for me to make signage is great with me (see top left!!) It was a good job I had a nice big table and plenty of chairs as lots of makers had to sit and think for a while.

 Above is Becky. She runs Becky's Kitchen. Becky brought along a lovely selection of treats for visitors including a very zingy sherbet (yum) jammy dodgers, marshmallows etc. So delicious. Her badge says it all!

I took lots more photos, but cant post them all. So thank you to all for a great evening. I had lots of visitors to my badge making station and lots of thinking was done by all. The event was very busy with lots of shopping going on. If you are in Oxford do visit. I'm sure you wont come away without a purchase but if you arent in the area you can shop online now! Hooray!
